    Default Phal. equestris 'Little Mac'

Got a good deal on this and really thought the size, shape, and coloration were unique.
First photo is a close-up of the flower and the second shows the foliage and roots and gives an aerial view of the flowers. It has two open and a third just starting to develop.

that's a pretty coloured Phal Matt. Not sure about the name though... doesn't look like any of the other equestris I've seen... just hasn't got that manga witch look to the lip...

Could it be a hybrid between equestris and Little Mac?

Either way, the colour I think is a stand out! Nice sunset colours...

    cheers

I've no idea about the name? I'm not good with Phal. at all, have very few of them. It was grown by the caretakers of a renowned conservatory collection of over 1000 plants here in MN so I'd be surprised if they had it mislabeled; there was no x on the tag between the two parts of the name, just "Phalaenopsis equestris 'Little Mac'". If anyone else has information on it being mislabeled, I always like to have my plants labeled as accurate as I can; let me know. I'll try to do some internet searching. Thanks for the heads-up! At any rate, it is a beautiful flower/color/shape.

Little Mac maculata fasciata Herb Hager Orchids 1978 . Very pretty Phal. Will write more later Gin

That makes the most sense. After looking at pictures of Phal. maculata, Phal. fasciata, and Phal. equestris, the flower I have could easily have been produced. I tried searching for a photo of the Phal. Little Mac hybrid, which as Gin posted is maculata x fasciata, but I couldn't get a hit on the google images search engine. I'm just going to assume that it is indeed an equestris crossed with Little Mac. Thanks Tim & Gin!
