At the end of last year's blooming I divided the plant and the larger of the two divisions has bloomed for me again this year. Since I have a second one of these I gave this one while still in bloom to a friend that wanted to start growing orchids.
I have an o. Wildcat as well and it is a long lasting flower. A very nice plant and pretty flower. My Wildcat's spike has several arms of multiple flowers. In all, there are approx 30 flowers in all. See my picture. I hope this is not bad etiquette here (I'm new and have only joined yesterday).
Very nice of you giving your friend a blooming orchid, but you'll be responsible for his orchid addiction.
