Phal. (Tsay's Evergreen x Tzu Chiang Pawan) x Phal. amboinensis

It came with 2 spikes with one open blossom. It is supposed to be fragrant but I don't detect any scent. Perhaps the packaging material took it away????

It is in 100% sghag moss, so once it is done flowering I will re-pot it into s/h.

That would be great. I am hoping at least the next buds to develop and open will have a scent. And I guess when they say fragrant, that does not necessarily mean a good fragrance.

BTW Ron- This Saturday is the DOS Show and Sale you alerted me of. I will be attending. So even though I have 93 orchids as of today in my house, I would not be surprised if I didn't buy at least one tomorrow. I am trying to stop buying now and see what I have success with and what does not do well for me. After first getting into orchids, I thought I liked Catts best, but now they have fallen way down on my list.

Harvey...admit it you are hooked! I recall a point that I had 50 orchids and said I was not going to get any more. I topped out at near 1,000 before I ran into a situation where I needed to scale back

I am hooked. No doubt but really I am going to slow down for a while. I have a trip east to take in the next month or so and buying before then just gives me 1,2,3,4 more to worry about surviving the 5 days. I will send my paphs, mounted and others to the local nursery for babysitting. I am trying to get a sense of how long the s/h potted orchids can go without being refilled.

However, I did buy 3 new 2 foot fixtures and more fans for the 3 mini-green houses I seemed to have acquired thus expanding my capacity. I just fired up the 4' 8 tube garage light with my cool loving orchids starting to populate the space.
