    Default Dtps. Minho Princess 'S.J'

This is the phal I bought at the grocery store for the dying lady and then decided to keep for myself. The flowers are 3 1/4" across on a branching spike with 12 buds/flowers. (The 13th bud blasted after I repotted it, but hey...)

It sits just behind my Phal. Baldan's Kaleidoscope, which is blooming and has flowers 1/8 shy of 4" across. They make a nice combo! (With a snowy scene out the window behind them...)

Beautiful blooms! You are so active in posting pictures of your orchid blooms lately! What gives? (Your place must be bursting with orchid blooms now!)

I heard that the Minho Princess grex is very fertile and has produced many great progenies? I have seen another Minho Princess-like blooms where you see the paterns only on half of the flowers, the other half, it is almost pure white except the Minho Princess-style picotee edges! If you ever see it, please let me know! I want that plant!
    Cheers. Hoa.

I didn't photo all of my plants when they bloomed last year, and I promised myself I would make a point to this year. But the 'photo shoot' setup is a bit of a pain, so I try and shoot as many plants at once, when I do it.

I think I've got ten in bloom right now, which is why there were so many recent posts. I also owed the updated shot on the 2-for-1 paph. Mildred and my harlequin phal will be blooming soon, and then there will be a pause while a bunch of new spikes grow up.

Still, New England winters are so much more pleasant when you're cheered by all the pretty flowers!

Hi Diane, would you mind copying me on the PM with the link? I'm curious about the patterning Hoa described.

I apologize for this. I was not very accurate regarding this. I found out the name of the plant already. It's called Phal. Spanish Dance(r) 'Harlequin'.

What confused me earlier was that they have similar picotee/candy stripe pattern but the Spanish Dancer 'Harlequin' clone has candy stripe/picotee pattern on only the right half of the flowers and while the left half of the flowers has only the picotee edges just like the Minho Princess. Weird but amazing! Now we talk about asymmetric patterns!

    Cheers. Hoa.

    It's surely a fade job!

It's been suggested that my finger trouble was God's punishment for stealing this 'chid from the dying lady's hands.

I must state in my defense that the lovely nobile dend she received a week ago with only a single bloom, now has 25 lovely scented blooms! And she's wetting her Depends, she's so thrilled. (That was my plan, after all. I knew the Dtps. would take its time blooming and she might croak first. So I gallantly stepped in and took the creeper upon myself. I found her a brilliantly responsive - and pretty - dend for her total, albeit time-limited, satisfaction.)

Hey, maybe I should win my contest. I spun this one pretty well!!
