    Smile NoID Phal 1st Rebloom

Bought this close to 2 years ago. This is the first time it has flowered since. It has grown lots of roots and leaves (you can see one that I did surgery on quite some time ago). And this is the longest phal spike I have ever grown. About 2 feet long. And yes, water spots on the leaves.

Nice color, nice shape, and nice recovery.

Now about the water spots, like everyone on this board is always perfect when taking care of their orchids! I am sure they have pictures with problems with their own collections. My watering techniques were never perfect so all the phals that I did not kill from watering have all been mounted upside down so I don't have this problem with them any longer and have not lost any more since mounting, even a couple that were in sad shape by the time I mounted them, should bloom for me this next season only been a year since mounting.

I had one similar to that once, and mine had a slight citrus fragrance. Is yours fragrant, too? It's beautiful either way of course

I will check. I hadn't ever tried to sniff it before.

Jack- I would love to mount them but I am at my limit for mounted orchids at present. The same old song--space limitations. But, if I could grow outside 365 days a year, then I would be able to do it. I think that under my deck would be a good location for phals.

I only have two phals...indoors....one does exceptionally well - one has had a slight set-back (wooly aphids) but is recovering...funny, cos they are close together and the wooly aphids seem to have attacked one and not the other! Am tempted to try one mounted upside down - perhaps in my shade-house/nursery area - I fear though that our winter is perhaps too chilly...and I don't have any heating out there......maybe if I ever get a keiki I will do so with the baby........
