Cool Phal equestris hybrid In Bloom

This phal was a $10 grocery store buy. I took it to my office while it was in bloom from purchase. It ended its flower cycle in mid-March and by the end of April, I had taken it home and set it on an east facing windowsill. Within 2 weeks, it popped a new leaf. 2 weeks later, it popped another leaf. 3 weeks later, it spiked. Making it the fastest to spike (from scratch) of a phal for me from its previous blooming. And this is a prolific blooming as well. The main spike has close to 12 buds (looks like I am losing one to blast) and it has 2 branches on it as well. This phal equestris hybrid has no keikis at this time. I have another phal equestris hybrid, pics coming in the next week, that has at least 7 keikis.

There are many times when those $10.00 orchids turn out to be beauties, and this is one of them. Nice growing Harvey!
