They do get a bit depending on how high the sun is in the sky and how far south it gets. Maybe an hours worth of sun.

I ask because I recently acquired a Tolumnia hybrid, and I'm unsure whether I have high enough light levels to rebloom it. I've got it in an east-facing window, about 4-5 inches away from a 4 bulb 4ft T5 fixture. So far I haven't been able to rebloom my Vanda with this setup. I'm unsure how the light requirements for Tolumnias differ from Vanda.

I think Tolumnia would prefer Oncidium light levels to rebloom. That is, IMO, one notch lower in light than full sized Vanda's require. I say 'full sized' as Neofinetia, a miniature to small orchid, are now classified as Vanda but I don't think they need the light a full sized Vanda requires to bloom.

My understanding is, as long as the Tolumnia gets enough light to redden some leaves from the green , then it is getting enough light to bloom.
