Think this orchid has beautiful color and markings. Gombrassiltonia Hilo Ablaze 'Hilo Gold' HCC/AOS, formerly known under the intergeneric name Aliceara, is a cross between Gomesia, Brassia, and Miltonia. This plant has been a reliable bloomer that lasts a long time in bloom with individual flower size of about 3.5 inches. Four bloom spikes this time.
Wow! That is so pretty! I have a terrible time with similar crosses, I think they don't care for my low humidity and occasional lack of watering. Its a bummer because I really like them.
That is a beauty, Nina!
I live in low humidity and I get regular blooms, so Carol, I'm guessing the spotty watering is the issue. How is the lighting?
Looks awesome. Thanks for sharing
That is a species I could get into, will have to look. Beautiful Nina! Do you know who might be selling this, if you do send me a private message as you can not list vendors in this forum.
Looks like your set-up is nicely done would love to see more pictures of your orchid area.
That is gorgeous, Nina!
Agree this is a nice orchid, thank you for all the responses. This is the third time this plant has bloomed for me and previously I staked the bloom spikes upright but decided this time to let the plant bloom without staking. Do like the way it looks. Of course I grow all my orchids outside so had room for the size of this plant in bloom. I did have to move several Vanda baskets off this hanging pole to accommodate the space required for cascading bloom spikes and being in a clay pot it's heavy. Not dividing this plant, want it to keep growing, I like specimen orchids. Probably a throwback to my botanical garden days. I can understand why this one was HCC awarded, beautiful flowers. JDT I'll try to locate some pics of my orchid growing areas. I grow orchids all over my garden; on vertical trellises, fences, sitting on benches, hanging on poles, chains, and arbors.
Nina, thanks for the info, I have purchased this orchid thanks to Nina's information she pm me.
Harvey, I am one up on you I think unless you have been a bad boy...
I was a bad boy.
My grocery store sent me a $2 off Floral coupon. My local store just got a shipment. So I got a $10 phal, with 4 spikes on it for $8. She's a beauty!
And there was an Onc Pacific Sunrise 'Hakalau' that wouldn't let me leave it there. So I am 1 up on you!

I'm sure my local orchid nursery will have these before too long. I'll snag one when they do.
