    Default Help with possible ID please ?

    Greetings. One of my hybrid orchids blooming now has only a partial tag and I'm hoping some of you experienced orchid enthusiasts on this forum may recognize it. I understand asking you to guess what the hybrid name of an orchid may be is a horrible request but I do have a partial name on the old broken off plant label. Still on partial label is: Potinara Th
    Am aware that taxonomist's have divided up the nothogenus Potinara. Have had this orchid for about 4 years, it blooms only once a year for me, in October or November here in southwest Florida. Flowers are 3-4". Looking at these flowers and with a very partial name on label- Potinara Th - does anybody have any ideas on possible ID ? Thanks for any suggestions.

    Nina, I can not answer your question. I have two Potinara's but they do not have this much yellow in them. I hope you have some luck in getting an answer to this!

    How large is the flower?

    Nevermind... It is Potinara (Rhyncattleanthe) Thi-Ti, almost certainly.

    Oh, thank you Kirk! My Potinara Burana Beauty is thriving, a great and cute compact plant, and I'm a sucker for red and yellow it seems! I'll put that one on my wish list and keep an eye out for it.

    Kirk you are my hero. Thank you, I concur this beauty is Rhyncattleanthe Thi-Ti and really appreciate being able to label this orchid again ! Found this article on R. Thi-ti and Burana Beauty;

    Oh cool, thanks for that! My Burana Beauty is the 'Burana' cultivar. It often blooms 3-4 flowers per spike for me and on pretty much every growth when it's happy. Just a great little plant, grows like a weed.

    Very well done ; I looked up your suggestion on Orchidwiz, and you are indeed spot on. If its not Thi-Ti , then Thi-Ti has a douyble.
