Size: 310.9 KBI have been growing this one under lights. However, I struggled with the amount of light. As you can see some of the leaves have spots at the end of them I figured this is not a good thing, but the plant otherwise seemed to be doing okay, and then I saw the spike so I left it as is. It had 3 flowers on spike so not the best. I have read that when it starts to show growth it is time to repot. This is the plan. However, I wondering if any of you could recommend the best place to grow the plant. Can it handle warmer temps (upper 80's) and bright light? Can anyone tell me if they have grown incidium other than in house under lights?Name: odcdm tiger golden star - 1.jpg

Very nice Monica! I have about 15 oncidium related plants. I used to have them in the window but due to space restrictions they are now under lights. They flowered a lot better when they had a sunny position. I'm hoping I finally beat the black spot problem. I water mine by taking them to the bathtub and showering them with a watering can and aquarium water. Last April I started adding fungicide once a month. No spotting since then. Don't know about the temps. Mine are 68F daytime 60F at night during the winter.

Oncidium Tiger Crow should adapt to summer daytime high temps around 85F, a bit higher occasionally, but may suffer badly if nighttime lows don't fall to 70F or below pretty consistently on those hot days. It should also adapt to bright Cattleya level light, 3000-3500 footcandles sunlight. Needing more water as heat and light increase, of course. It will roast if you pop it into those maximums without a good long time (several months) to get used to it though.

I have several under light which I would like to move to my new green house. I have not been able to experience the temp during the summer, but I'm hoping it is insulated enough to avoid extreme high temps. It is located in a east to west location. Where would be a good location to move them. Any one have ideas????

We are growing this clone outdoors under shadecloth and our summer temperatures can reach over 35 degrees C.It is not as heat -tolerant as some of our other oncidium alliance but still grows reasonably well with a little more shade than our catts.
