Red face Holcosianda Sweet Jenny in bloom

Got this hybrid in February from local vendor in flower. Unfortunately the vendor had mysteriously unreachable.

Flowered for the first time under my care. It might be free flowering. The flower did not open fully like I first got it, but the colour is much better this time. I particularly love the lip.

Parentage: Luisanda Red Seagull x Holcoglossum Magic Jenny a.k.a. [(Lsa. antennifera x V. curvifolia) x (Holc. wangii x Holc. quasipinifolium)]

Cross pollinated with the Vanda (vietnamica x denisoniana) hybrid and Phalaenopsis Fuller's Sunset, wish me luck!

Nice. Good luck with your pollination attempts. I can't even think of doing it in my limited space.

I like the dappled lip, but don't know zilch about those types of orchids. More into Catts.

I successfully pollinated a Catt but didn't know what to do with the bulb afterwards.

After reading up on the long and involved process and how long it takes, I gave up. Good Luck!

I am with you on this! It is much easier (maybe not as fulfilling though) to buy them already crossed. Maybe I am just too old! And find the propagation from seed to be too time consuming.

It is a trigeneric hybrid. When I saw it, I bought it without thinking. I believe this hybrid is imported to our country.

I love hybrids especially the odd ones, but intergeneric hybrids are very hard to find here. So, I figured that maybe I should make one myself. I know too well about the lengthy process of propagating from seeds. I am still educating myself. Hope that everything goes well. Fingers cross.

You could have donate, send to orchid nursery or even sell the seed capsule. If I ever get a successful seed capsule, I am determined not to stop half-way (hopefully!!).
