A plant from EYOF - The Eric Young Orchid Foundation ; they don't sell - they are not commercial - but after raising a batch of plants they keep the best for breeding or for display in their show area ( in the island of Jersey, in the English Channel ) and sometimes sell some of the rest as a batch to one or other of the ( very few) UK orchid nurseries - who then offer them to folk like me, at only an arm and a leg for each plant..... These are their not so good flowers - probably not quite award standard, but usually far better than can be got anywhere else.
The parentage here is Aviewood x Ingmar , and that is quite interesting, since 50 plus years ago when I got interested in growing orchids and fell for Odontoglossums ( as they were then called) there were two nurseries specialising in breeding them in UK - one in the north who bred Aviewood ( its parent Aviemore is a rather more famous cross) - this was Mansell & Hatcher - who went out of business some years ago, and the other was in the south of Uk - Charlesworths - who bred Ingmar, and they went out of business even earlier than Mansells. I had been a regular visitor to both nurseries for many years , and was not surprised when they went bust -orchid nurseries in UK were rarely run like proper businesses elsewhere - no thought to investment , improvements in growing techniques etc - Charlesworths were still using 19th century methods in the second half of the twentieth century.
I guess that EYOF acquired some of the stud plants from both when they went under, and this is one combination from them.

Geoff, you may get disappointing results with Trichoglottis brachiata but you kill with this group of orchids. Most of mine start to fade away after a year or so and finally succumb to the torture. I know it is something I'm doing because a member the society I belong to brought one in for show and tell last month with 9 spikes on a plant in a 6" pot. She has had it for 4 years and I'm in the process of killing the same plant.
