    Default Phalaenopsis equestris var leucaspis "Aparri"

    The variety is named after the town ( Aparri) where the longest river in the Philippines, Cagayan River, empties into the confluence of the Pacific Ocean and the South China Sea.

    While not particularly a characteristic of this variety, I was surprised to see a slightly different tip of the lip in the blooms of this particular plant, which looks like a two-pronged, or notched, extension.
