    Default Phal Henry Fernandez

Bought this earlier in the year as an out of bloom plant that should bloom within the yesr.It spiked 3 weeks later in my growroom
Looks like a standard white but the flower size is pretty nice.
    Over 4 1/2" wide & 4" tall.
Most of my family find this has more of a WOW factor than my species Phals(heathens).

    Hi Steve,

It certainly has a WOW factor, but I think species do as well! I looked it up to see how far removed from a primary cross it is - Very! There isn't a single species parent going back at least five genereations.

But it's pedigree is predominated by...you guessed it, a few white species.

The name is registered as Henry Fernando. It's pedigree is:

    42% amabilis
    41% rimestadiana
    15% aphrodite
    2% schillleriana

Orchid factoids of the day! Nice photo, too!

as much as I am so over seeing them everywhere.... white Phals still tug at my orchid-want-that-one conscience

at the end of the day, I guess they do put on quite a show... and yours is doing just that!

despite the species snobs who turn up their collective noses, I find a well-bloomed large white to be as elegant as any phal.
