    Default Phal. fimbriata

Native to Java and Sumatra, this lesser-seen species is very tiny. The bloom has grown since it opened and is just 1.5" tall. Its name comes from its fimbriated lip, which you have to get quite close to see.

I didn't know Phal species came this tiny! When I got it two months ago, with the spike just started, I could only laugh! Its leaves are barely bigger than a single flower on my big, fat Phals! This little guy has, in his short time here, crept up and stolen my heart!

Very nice. The small plant lovers in our group should really appreciate it. My doritis pulchimerra chumporensis is in bloom and it's flowers are smaller than a quarter! Cute, but not my cup of tea... May be a candidate for orchid bids.

    Like your flower much more!

LOL! I know! I bought it because I loved the flower. When I saw it, its smallness made me cringe, but it has grown out and I do love it!

Please post a photo of your Doritis!

Even though it's beatiful right now, it's nothing compared to what it's going to look like if allowed to grow int a specimen sized plant with multiple spikes.
This one of my favorite species phals as well....Good luck

    Thanks, guys!

Allesandra, I hope it does grow to specimen size! At least Phals are speedier than some of the snail-like Paphs!
