He has lived through the crucible and is coming out the other side.
It's not about a genus. It's about total, global world orchid domination. If it's out there, you must have it. Well, only one of it. Not to deplete local populations and stuff. Just to have a cool collection.
I'm joking - although my own example is scary - and simply stating that downsizing isn't a word in our vocabulary. Culling, perhaps. But the more, bigger, better bug is a hard one to fend off.
