This is a nice plant, third time blooming for me. It spiked after I put the compost rescue plant next to it - guess they exchanged stories!!!

I love the way the blooms look so exuberant!!

They really do look like they are leaping for joy! Really nice. Do they have that wonderful clove scent lots of these seem to have?

It does have a spicy scent - I wouldn't have said cloves though...

Very nice! Looks like a tangle of joy

My brassia cross smells of Old Spice aftershave ( which reminds me of my 5th grade history teacher....)

Good growing Diane. See... it does help to flex some muscle sometimes to show the plants who the real boss is

Very nice Diane! What ever happened to the plant you pulled out of the compost when it had a spike. You mentioned that it was headed back after blooming. Are you now using it as an example to your other plants you want to spike? hehehehee

    Cheers,
    BD

Odbrs . is short for the intergeneric cross between Odontoglossum and Brassia

BD - the 'Death Row' Plant opened the first flower this morning. I was hoping to get a few more open before I took a picture. I think the plant is mislabled... It does not look like a bllra. Marfitch 'Howards Dream' to me.

Where does the spike originate from on these? Well, Odontoglossum spefically. I have 0. biotoniense and one of the psudos has a bulge forming near the top at the base of the leaves and I was just wondering... well hoping... you know what I mean, THE reward. OK, the next best reward other than finding out your original cross catt seed is germinating and THEN flowering. Or maybe that your c. bulbosa has germinated (but I get ahead of myself now.)
