Very nice! I especially like your 2nd pic.

I keep hoping to find someone carrying Psychopsis sanderae but never any luck.

    Thanks for the kind comments

'Mariposa' in portuguese (and in spanish, I assume) means 'butterfly', same etimology of 'papilio'. 'Mariposa' is a butterfly that when lands put its wings in parallel to surface, but is not a moth; we call 'borboleta' the butterfly that rests the wings folded backward.

I guess it's whole name is all about butterflies

I was kind of thinking that it looks like a close up of a strange desert ant with a bit of camouflage.

    Great looker though.

    Default update

It is blooming on two spikes now The second bloom on the new taller spike is much better than the first one too. Also the wings of the blooms are more aligned with the lip for a fuller look. i wanted to bring this one to my society meeting but I had limitations (raining and I had to go to work right after).

The third bloom on the older shorter spike turned out smaller. Maybe I should have fertilized better? I have been using a 20-14-13 urea free fertilizer since my paphs were growing. is it too much nitrogen?

And it has three more new growths started, it is a weed! Everyone should get one!
Now i will have to hunt for a alba psychopsis too...
