    Default Onc. ascendens

This terete or "rat-tailed" oncidium I bought a year ago. The flowers are small, bright yellow, and they look like a swarm of bees. I got it because I like the "rat-tailed" looks. It was difficult to keep it moist enough, so I wrapped it in a sheath of coconut fiber and it seems to do the trick. My daughter commentary was: "this one is wrapped like a baby in a blanket".

It needs very bright light and good water. I've been using RO or rain water. I am amazed it actually flowered for me.

Thank you guys. The picture is not too great, because it was getting dark already. It is a strange looking one.

Those leaves are amazing, and very weird for an Onc! Great growing of a wonderful, specimen-sized species, Ania!!!
