Is it a stable peloric phal?

I have seen a couple of phals recently with some really cool blooms, only to realise that some of them were really cool, others were really normal, and some more were a sort of weird inbetween state. So I have still not bought one yet.... Will keep looking though..

Yes, this guy is very reliable. All the blooms are the same, with a bit more crinkly-ness on some edges of some blooms.

    Crinkly-ness???

Totally get crinkly-ness - perhaps it should be spelt crinkliness and all one word? Either way - I love it!

Does anyone know how peloric orchids come about? It must be some grazy genetics, right? And from what I understand, peloric means that various parts of the orchid flower are identical...like, all 3 of the sepals will resemble the lip in color and shape. Is that the basic idea?

    Becky,

They come about by some sort of genetic mutation. Peloric just means that they flowers parts differ from the 'norm'. For instance, Diane sent me a peloric catt that lacks a labellum. I've seen peloric phals that have three lips, etc. I find these aberrations interesting, some people hate them..
