    Default Cool bloomer....

Milt. Pearl Ono 'Lliwal' AM/AOS x Milt. santanaei '4n' - the only milt we grow because it is too hot here to grow these well. If I could, I would grow lots of these. The plants always look cute and the blooms are always huge and impressive. Enjoy!

Default I HAVE THE SAME MILT!

    Bruce,

I have the same plant. Santanaei imparts a bit of heat tolerance, which is why this one probably is amenable to greenhouse culture in Arkansas.

Here is a picture of my plant during the last blooming (October). It amazes me how different these seed-grown crosses look. Mine looks nothing like yours

That is indeed strange. We grow this one directly against the cool cell. It gets 'splashed' with water all year long. So far it seems to bloom every year. Yours seems so dark. Must be the temperature when the bloom develops that causes this difference. I have some oncids like linda isler 'red' that bloom very red when it is one temp and very brown when another.

    Default Temps?

I wasn't thinking temps was it, Bruce...but I could be wrong.

I just attributed the difference to the old roll of the genetic dice. After all, our plants aren't mericlones

Oh, yes, I understand. I was just trying to make sense of it. Our milt seems to bloom in the spring and not the fall. I was relating it to temps. I do understand the genetic dice idea as well.

Beautiful Milts! *sigh* Wish I could grow them ... they all seem to die under my care.

Hey, when it blooms - will you post a photo? I would love to see how different yours might be too.
