I'm almost 200 posts behind, have lots of thirsty plants, and only have about 30 seconds to post...

Tigrwoman is the license plate on Thumb's sister's car. Diane used her sister's 7 series BMW the week I visited, and allowed me to drive her car. So driving back from our dinner in Pasadena with Hoa on Sunday, I was staring at a sexy Beemer tail-end, with a Tigerwoman license plate.

Diane has referred to the three female tigers in her family. The truly remarkable member, must certainly be her mother (don't forget said mother picked up that amazing division of the FCC-awarded Cattleya Bob Betts back in the late 60's!) I think birds and orchids were in Thumb's genes.

The second tiger would be Diane's sister, whose car bears the name of her sister's sail boat, Tigerwoman.

The third is Thumb herself. While she wasn't doing it while I was out there, she may well be sporting orange-striped black spandex by now...

Mystery revealed! And I have to run. Won't have any time to post this next week. I'm gonna get hammered with a backlog! Aiii! Book sales are going well, but I'm so far behind on so many things!

    Ah, close but not quite.

The original Tiger Woman is my sister. Her oriental zodiac sign is the Tiger, and there is a long story about why she is called Tiger Woman that has to do with a business trip her husband took to Japan many years ago.

Tiger Woman #2 is my sisters boat here in California. Men always seem to name their boats after their wives, and since their sailboat already wears her real name, her husband named the power boat Tiger Woman in her honor.

And the 3rd Tiger Woman is indeed the car that Julie was following. (Sis is big into naming things..)

It is a spike spliced onto a plant. It was just a fun post because we all know how skilled a grower Hoa (aka Doc Spock) is. And he gave me the spike of onc. flowers when I visited him.

Oh wait...really? After polishing off the single malt, I was convinced your hybrid was a cash cow with a green future. Didn't I write you a six-figure check to fund the cloning??? It's hard to remember...it's all a blur...
