    Default MAJOR HYBRIDIZING BREAKTHROUGH

    WARNING
    THIS IS A HUMOROUS POST

IF YOU DON'T HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOR - DON'T READ IT!

I AM THRILLED TO REPORT ON THE BREAKTHROUGH HYBRIDIZING RESULTS OF OUR OWN MAD SCIENTIST - DOC SPOCK! THE UNRETOUCHED

PHOTO BELOW WAS SMUGGLED INTO MY HOME FOR PUBLICATION ON THIS FORUM ONLY. THIS FABULOUS NEW PLANT, WHICH DOC SPOCK IS

DEBATING NAMING EITHER ONCIDEANOPSIS OR PHALEACIDIUM, PRODUCES 3 TO 6 FOOT SPRAYS OF BRIGHTLY COLORED, HIGHLY FRAGRANT

(A COMBINATION OF LILAC, LILY OF THE VALLEY, CHOCOLATE AND COCONUT) WAXY BLOOMS THAT LAST FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. THE SPIKES

ARE REPLACED ALMOST IMMEDIATELY BY NEW SPIKES. THE PLANT ALSO PRODUCES PRODIGIOUS NUMBERS OF BASAL AND STEM BORN KEIKIS.

Despite the outcry from the AOS, the RHS and the ASPCA, Doc Spock has been fiercely defended by his friend. (Who requested anonymity) She is quoted as saying "Anything that comes of 2 bottles of Single Malt and a bio-tech lab must be O.K.".

I think the picture speaks for itself:

I'm not sure... maybe red after Doc Spock's friend spills red wine on it... (only fine cabernet, of course!)
