    Default now showing at kitty's

    Hi guys,
I thought I'd post some pics of things in bloom at my house. We have a milt., several phals, and an oncidium. All of these are first-earned spikes. I'm getting quite a show this season!

    Default Gorgeous!

They're all nice, but the milt is particularly nice...such a dark burgundy...

Obviously they like you for so many different "babies" to be sending out their first spikes. I must say my favorite is the milt.

    Nice job, Kitty!

Does the Milt smell wonderful? And is the Phal still opening, or is it peloric?

not much of a fragrance on the milt. and no, I don't think the phal is peloric, but it sure taking its time opening. I'm tempted to give it a little push....

Congratulations to you on your new arrivals

Did you do anything particular to encourage your milt?

It is a challenge to get the milt buds to open fully if you don't live in a really humid environment (which i don't). I kept it on a humidity tray once I saw the spikes, and I misted the roots everyday. The last time this plant spiked, it never made it to full bloom. The buds either burst or only partially opened, so this round I was very attentive. It seems to have paid off. I was going to give up on milts if this one failed again, but now I've fallen in love all over again.

LOL! I applaud your efforts, Kitty! I bought a Milt in Feb and thought I'd fix the humidity struggle. I placed in my terrarium with 80% humidity. It promptly blasted every bud on three spikes, except one. It was given away shortly thereafter.
