    Default curves in bloom

Here are a few of my phals that are in bloom. I just love the natural curves on the stems. The white phal is my first orchid that I bought three years ago (have I been addicted that long!?!). She is so reliable and regal. The pink phal has a weird growth on one of its blooms. See if you can make it out. What's up with that?

Very nice! The weirdness is just the occasional genetic glitch that happens.

They look so graceful with unfettered spikes arching in their own way. I like to let my smaller ones do that....it's so pretty.

Ocassional peloric blooms are common on a lot of hybrid orchids. I have an odontioda that produces one or two blooms on each spike that are similar.

Way to go both Kitty and Judi - Congrats on the new spikes and flowers. I was looking very much forward to seeing my first growing spike bloom one day, although somehow whilst I was on holiday the plant got turned completely around and the spike has started to double back on itself having made a very sharp u-turn. It's kind of spoiled the graceful arch I was hoping for , but we'll just have to live with it!
