Guess it likes that mount, huh! very clever Tanya.

Have you got moss or bark or anything else like that inside the bamboo?

I put a few chips of coconut shell as a "seat" for the plant, a few coco husks to help retain moisture when the plant was newly mounted but the roots seems to ignored it and prefer the bamboo itself . I also put a small strand of spanish moss in there.

    That is beautiful.
Bamboos are great mounting material too since they can last for decades.

What a great idea. I have some Giant Bamboo growing in the back yard, and this is a great idea as to how to use it. Did you drill holes on the bottom, and along the sides to promote drainage, and airflow?

You can drill holes as much as you like on the sides. The bottom, you can just use something hard to break the "divider" (don't know the proper word for that thing)

The giant thick bamboo is best for this purpose. They last for years.
