    Default Onc Twinkle

My Onc Twinkle is about to burst into bloom. Oncidium Twinkle is a cross between Onc. cheirophorum and Onc. ornithorhynchum. Being an ornithorhynchum hybrid, the plant stays compact, the flowers are profuse and very fragrant smelling of vanilla and spice. This is an easy growing plant that will do well in most conditions. It likes medium light and intermediate temps. It is an easy chid to grow and blooms 2X per year for me. There are different color varieties on the market.

    That is beautiful.
It looks like the one that Katie gave me, although that one is a much bigger plant.

How long did the buds take before they actually opened? Mine took forever to open

The buds take some time to develop and open. The plant has been in spike for about 6 weeks. I find that my spring blooming is more prolific. At times I have seen p-bulbs with 5 spikes. It is a pretty rapid grower. I think I moved it into this pot this spring and looks like I will have to more it up again next spring. It is currently in a 4" pot.

Wow! Congrats on all those spikes!

I have Onc. Tsiku Marguerite which is Twinkle X ornithorhychum. It's blooming now, so I was comparing it to your pictures. With my untrained eye, I find it difficult to discern differences. The coloring looks about the same. Maybe the flowers are longer on my hybrid?
