    Default Phal Could It Be

This phal just opened today. I love the soft features of the rose color and the contrasting dots on the lip and sepals and well, I think it is a beauty. Unfortunately, like so often happens with pre-printed labels, a porting of the name is unreadable. I thought it was Phal Wedding Promenade, but pics on the net of flowers with this name don't look like my flower. I have learned from this forum that "looks aren't always everything." So having said that, could this be a variation of Wedding Promenade and since it is my plant can I call it whatever I want because I can't read the name? The last pic has been downloaded from the net as being Phal Wedding Promenade. Or if someone has a proper name, let me know....thanks

As long as you don't propagate it or try to sell it as your renamed plant, have at it. Call it whatever meets your fancy. It sure is pretty what ever it is.

If you would have asked me...I would have said the last picture you showed is Dtps. Newberry Parfait 'Picotee'. Plants are notoriously mis-labeled...HOWEVER..consider this..

The plant you have and the one from the net are "sister plants" (i. e. not mericlones) from the same grex. I've seen siblings from grexes that don't resemble each other at all..

Thanks... I agree that the internet pic is possibly mis-named. I also have a plant labeled Newberry Parfait 'Picotee' which I have posted in the past and it looks like the net pic. I'm pretty sure my plant is correctly labeled.

I'd have no problem calling it P. Newberry Parfait "Picotee". They like to spike and can have 3,4,or more! Beautiful when they do that. Hope mine comes around this spring. Last fall it had 5 spikes and I cut the 5th one off in hopes of saving the plant. So far so good.
