My Phragmipedium ecuadorense has been in bloom for more than two months now and the same spike is still producing more blooms after blooms and a second growth is now in spike. It is a beautiful species that stays small and grows very fast.

Thumbs up

Once again BEAUTIFUL! I can see why folks on the web would try to use your photos to sell their plants. I am glad you caught the guy on ebay. You do great work and then someone else copy/pastes it into their website with out a thought or concern of how much effort it takes to grow the plants or photograph them.

Cheers!

Thanks!

Some people think stealing is ok which is just too bad. You're right, I spent money to buy plants, camera etc and worked hard at photographing my orchids and that guy comes along and steals one of my pictures and uses it without my permission. He actually used it for two whole years before I even notified him and he was selling those plants like hotcakes. But I'm glad that we worked it out.

I think I said this before, but really, if had the time, patience, or ability to take pictures of our stuff with the same professionalism you have, I seriously think--I *know*-- we'd sell a lot more.

Sigh. Another area to develop.....

Lja,

I agree, pictures do help sales. Look at all the big companies spending millions in advertising just to sell their goods.

The person who bought my Phrag wallisii division said she was never into Phrags and thought they were really ugly but once she saw my photo of wallisii online, she fell in love with it right away and wanted to get one.

"A picture is worth a thousand words".

Are you letting him use them now? If so, is he "paying" for them in any sort of way?

Jennifer,

No, I don't think he's now using my photo to sell his plants. He wasn't very happy when I found out and notified him but we did make a deal and he sent me a nice 2 growth Paph St. Swithin in exchange of the use of my picture. All that happened about a couple or so months ago but he stole my picture and used it for two whole years before I contacted him.
