I think a kovachii and caudatum or a warscewiczianum combination will be spectacular, the long petals of the caudatum and the large size and color of kovachii, just think about it?

    Sigh...

I am certain any would be lovely!

I joke, but really I do wonder. How could anything related to Kovachii be anything but fantastic?

I really am looking forward to that day - despite my joking.

You speciesists aren't all that bad. Really! Look at me, I'm a die hard Sox fan.

I'm going to pile on this discussion like the 300 lb. lineman piles on at the end of a play in the NFL.

    1. Nice haynaldianum, Peter.
    2. I love Phrag. kovachii; too bad it can't be named Paph. peruvianum; I suppose it will serve as a reminder of the greed and idiocy that slippers might induce.
    3. Apparently kovachii lives in a very remote, hard to reach, and downright nasty (mud mud mud) neck of the woods. Probably helped to prevent earlier discovery IMHO.
    4. I saw a picture of kovachii in comparison to a mint $20 bill. Jaw dropped. I am convinced that kovachii x any phrag will be worth growing.
    5. Let's hope the Peruvian gov't is interested in propagating and distributing this mindboggling species to reduce pressure on the wild plants.

From what I understand, they are propagating, and will only be allowing seedlings for export, with very tight controls.

Which means, nobody can dare come up with a kovachii X xyz for the next few years without being brought up on smuggling charges....

    Thanks, Jason!

I also love kovachii and I would also prefer it to be called peruvianum (in honor to its native land) but unfortunately it will forever be known as kovachii.

When they arrive here legally, of course I'll be the first in line

Rumor says that a few nurseries in FL already own these magnificient plants and have already been hybridized.

I am certain that, aside from the U.S., plants of kovachii have been in Europe and Asia ever since their discovery and that crosses have already been made. Based on the movement of the new parvis (jackii, hangianum, etc.), it seems to me CITES isn't too much of a priority in those parts of the world. Yay, we'll get Wossner Kovacaud soon...

    Default Space concerns re: Hayaldianum

    Ohhh, I really want one.

I really just have some concerns about my lack of space. I mean, I can't just keep buying and buying these plants if I do not have the room. I could maybe squeeze one more in but it is going to be difficult. Especially these large leaved multiflorals!

I need to decide before tomorrow night though, cause I'd like to get the free shipping.

Definitely get one from them! They have good stuff and the free shipping this month makes it even more worth it.

Well, I think I can squeeze in the haynaldianum but no warscewiczianum. A girl has to be able to pick and choose, I suppose, she just doesn't wish to. I am just going to have to figure out the space situation. I mean, this place is 1700sq. foot and I am restricting myself to a 2.5' x 4.5' table! How pathetic.
