You would have to wait a few years to see mine in bloom. It is still a little baby and growing very slowly. Lja's sanderianum will bloom sooner, his is almost blooming size.

I know! Just teasing you! Still a few years out though, huh? When did you get it?

So, Louis, you'd better post a pic for me when that blooms!

I got mine in the summer of 2001 and it is still growing but slowly. You ought to get one, Heather.

I was just being facetious when comparing Sweet Sugar to 4N Gower Ramsey...I'm not aware of the latter existing, but having seen both, I can say the former is much much larger and more impressive than the 2N latter.

It embarrasses me to reveal that I do not have a sandy as of this point, partly because of my large quantities of debt, and because I'm banking on getting back more plant for the same money in a few years, like with roths. Plus, I tend to kill off any seedlings under 4" anyway, and I cannot afford a sandy larger than that.

Jason, I still think that it maybe a Growers Ramsey. The person who gave it to me said that the plant had no label, so she just grabbed a label from a different plant (not too bright of her). I was told that Growers Ramsey has bigger flowers than Sweet Sugar but I'm no expert on Oncidium.

I have seen blooming sized sands from $500 - $3,000.00 and up. Plants with excellent parentages, more of course.

The guy who owns the plant listed in the Guiness Book of World Records for the longest petals sells his seedlings for $20,000.00 and it comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
