Ok, you people are EVIL. Now I want a PEOY. Any suggestions for a good vendor who's got nice plants? And I don't think I'll be paying $1200 for a division from Orchid Inn, but I am willing to spend a little. Suggestions on cross and vendor?

That's a really beautiful orchid, lja! The flowers are so...so perfect and delicate. And the stripes are nice too! Great coloring!

    Thanks for sharing!

John, I got mine from Pine Crest Orchids. http://www.pinecrestorchids.com/Their website isn't fancy, but give them a call and tell them I sent you. They're in Charlottesville, VA, and they're the ones who got me started on this whole orchid thing years and years ago..... They'll treat you right.

I aquired a PEOY today from the guy moving and it came from Pinecrest Orchids.

Unfortunatley, it is not in the best of shape...thankfully I decided to unpot and check the roots.... it only had a few left. It was way overpotted in CH and alifor, so it stayed too wet and rotted most of the roots. A phrag China Dragon was in worse shape....say a prayer you slipper heads, that I can revive these beauties.

One good note, a paph concolor had great roots !
PS this was not Pinecrest's fault but the fault of the new owner..he bought them last fall...I actually babysat them in March when he went househunting...they looked good then....they looked good leaf wise today but not root wise. It never ceases to amaze me that orchids can look healthy but be in such poor shape.
Now please give me some growing advice on these ...

Phew! Gilda, you scared the heck out of me! If Pine Crest was growing junk I'd have been mortified and even speechless! As far as growing goes, I've been keeping ours cool, next to the cool cell so it doesn't burn up in summer, with light levels of "bright shade." I also keep it constantly damp, but absolutely not soggy. In other words, the roots never totally dry off.
