I will, one bud is open with 2 more that will be open in a week or two. I LOVE it. I heard these can be pretty stinky, is yours a smelly one?

I smelled a cattleya today, it smelled like my Grandmas homemade raspberry jam. I think that one is next on my list of "orchids I need".

Congrats on your new baby, Traci! It is a neato looking plant for sure, and if yours smells like Pete's - faintly like lilacs, mmmm!

Traci, awesome. Great choice! I bet you'll have a lot more success with it too.

Thanks Louis, that is why I usually quote people, so they know who I am talking to.

Oh, you're talking to me? (Bad impression of Robert Deniro )

I bought mine about 4 or 5 years ago, don't remember exactly when. It is a fast grower.

    Default New pic

Heather, I took another pic of my octopus orchid bloom today. Let me know if the lip is purple or whatever the color is. I like the twirling petals which make the blooms look even more octopus like. I have seen some that don't twist at all.

    Thanks!

I agree, I like the twirlier petals too - they remind me of the nice twirly phrags and paphs. Very pretty and yes I can see the violet on the lip much more in this pic than in the first you posted.
I just saw one browsing around and yours has much twirlier petals!
