I wondered what that was in that picture there! I like those curlier ones. The mauve-y colors are nice in that one. I think my one dend. is, decidedly, on its last leaves...

Oh wow, what a well grown Dend and I also like the curly Dends and that is why I have a Dendrobium spectabile, the only Dend. in my collection.

Gilda! That's so pretty! The lip *is* stunning. I wish Dendrobims didn't grow so dang tall--I'd have a lot more of them!

BTW, your shadecloth: is that the aluminum fabric kind? How is that working out for you? Do you like it?

Lja, Dends do get big but you get a lot of bloom and a LONG bloom time, so that makes up for their size! Of course, there are the mini dends which I love.

That is regular shade cloth that has been doubled, picture is deceiving! I do know a grower that uses the aluminium and he says it keeps his greenhouse 20 degrees cooler and it lasts about 10 years., which is good because he said it was pricey.

great specimen! I used to have a purplish antelope-type with a light grape-like fragrance--any scent to yours?

    Jason,
I haven't detected any scent in the grow room..other than my maxillaria tenufolia....but the dend is at the back of the bench and almost touches the roof! When it opens all the way, I'll give it a sniff!
