Default Summering outdoors

Just an idea of how I summer my plants outdoors in the summer so I can keep them cooler & clean out the greenhouse. These pics were from 2002 with my old dig.camera with not many pixels but setup still the same however I have another screen added for hanging plants .

Jane, your set-up looks great. If you don't mind me asking, how do you keep squirrels and other critters away from your plants? Also, you're not that far away from me, so you may be dealing with the same torrential rains. Has that affected your gardening any? I don't grow my orchids outside, but I've had to bring some other things in recently for fear of crown rot.

Rick

Rick-the plants that are most susceptable to rot are kept in the tent but I have over the years lost some but not too manyat all. The worst was last June when we were away in AK for a month & I had no control & it rained here almost every day according to others. This year hasn't been bad at all for us.A lot of the heavy storms that you have had went also through NJ but petered out before they reached us.
As for squirrels-my Maltese keeps them hopping so they haven't been a problem lately at all.The setup is at the back facing south--(this year with a new fence) & above it I have towering spruce trees for the dappled shade.

Very nice to see your growing area, Jane! Thank you for all the pics. I agree, last June WAS awful! You were lucky to be away! This year's been a bit better, up here in MA at least.

I appreciate you showing us your growing area. But it looks like you have LOTS to auction, if you have the heart to sell certain ones. I'm sure your husband wouldn't mind .
