    Awesome pic of the Moonrise...
very difficult to get the exposure correct...
    I'm impressed... great job !!!

Heather... my visits to New England have given me many fond memories... both the people and the scenery... you are indeed fortunate to be able to grow nice Orchids there...

and... Louis...when you get away from the Border Towns... Mexico is a really wonderful place to be... if only there were an easy way to do something about the overwhelming abject poverty... but I guess that is just wishful thinking...

    for those that are interested...
here is a map of the southwestern part of Mexico...
showing the tiny [2004 sq. miles] State of Colima...
the entire state has a population of only 230,000 people...

btw... I resized this scan down from 3.3Mb... and it is still big...
but... any smaller and the detail goes to pot...

    Regards... Scotty.

Jason, I'd rather be there too! But with my plants!

Scotty, thanks for that. I actually looked your town up as I had no idea where it was. That is a better map than the one I found.

Scotty, thanks for posting that. The poverty there *is* terrible. And yet, I have met the most wonderful, amazing people in Mexico's interior--been invited to dinner by folks who had barely enough to feed themselves, where babies lay on old, sprung couches with flies rimming their eyelids--folks who slaughtered one of their best chickens for dinner just for the opportunity to talk. (Even to me, in my horrible spanish). I remember offering some trinket in return afterwards, which was refused because they didn't want to seem like beggars. Truly some touching experiences....
