Heather, I have been growing for many years and I still get all excited about my plants. So, you're not boring anyone. I love to see what others are growing and enjoy looking at their pics.

Your NOID Paph has good roots! Very nice!

Well, honestly, I know YOU aren't bored with them, you have the same leaf/root interest I do. Thank you though, for the reassurance!

I am pleased with this little plant. It has pretty blooms and it was free!

That has *very* nice roots. You should see a vinicolored bloom on that in no time!

Yes Jason, I think it has to have delanatii in the parentage - Louis was surprised by the redness near the base of the plant. Think that might be a clue to the other half?

That's a good thought. I checked Birk's paph grower's manual, which is the only resource that lists, among other things, the color of leaf undersides. It lists some red for glaucophyllum, moquettianum, chamberlainianum, although that is all variable. However, take that with a grain of salt, since it lists primulinum var. purpurascens as having plain green leaf undersides, while mine has quite a bit of red at the leaf base.

In the end, I'm not sure one can make any statements on leaf bases, since the cochlos seem to be variable and delenatii will confound everything anyway with its heavy red spotting throughout the leaf undersurface (not just the base).

Yes there is a lot of red spotting on the underside. I'm still thinking Delophyllum. I've moved on from Gina Short... But we'll never know for sure.
