    Default Somebody stop me!

Point me in the direction of my friendly, neighborhood "OA" meeting!

I promised myself no more Lowe's orchids. Swore it. Wasn't even going to look in that direction on the way to buy something to kill the dreaded earwigs. But out of the corner of my eye I saw oncidiums! They've never had anything but phals and dens. I was drawn against my will..... How could I leave them there to die at the uneducated hands of Lowe's employees??

They had vanda's, too but for $50!! That I was able to walk away from.

Here is my new 6 inch Colm. Wild Cat with 2 flower spikes:

Lisa, the plant in your second picture is not an Oncidium Sweet Sugar 'Emperor'. I have one, given to me a few years ago and it looks nothing like mine. I think your plant is mislabelled.

    A mislabled orchid at Lowe's? I'm shocked

Now that you said that, sweet sugar is yellow, right? Any idea what it really is?

I really have no idea because I don't know much about Oncidiums. Yes, Sweet Sugar has yellow flowers and I like yellow, so that is the only reason why I kept it.

Momokev, I'm pretty sure that what you have there is an Odontonia Lorraine's 14th. It's a good, reliable bloomer.

Did you repot them yet? I didn't (a Lowes purchase) and found one of my Colomara Wildcats (like your first pic) had about 3 roots. If they are healthy, you did good. Are they fragrant at all?
