Default Fundraising Contest

Hi everyone. For all the old timers, this will be a repeat of previous efforts, but everyone please join in if you can.

This forum is paid for by BD (Brutal Dreamer) and his SO out of their own pockets. If you enjoy the forum, have learned anything here, or made new friends, then perhaps you would like to make a contribution. There are two ways to help:

Option 1 - The Contest.

There is a PayPal donation button that you can use to make any sized contribution to help out with the costs
. Anyone who makes a donation between now and May 16 will be entered in my contest. For each dollar of donation I will give you an entry into a drawing. The prize is a $50 gift certificate to the online vendor of your choice. This will enable our non-US members to participate, as I can buy a certificate from any vendor around the world (If they offer certificates) Or you can opt for some cool forum gear - like t-shirts, mugs, hats, etc.For all those currently on the subscription donation program, I will give you 10 entries into the drawing for your subscription. If you give an extra amount, you'll get tickets for that at 1 per dollar.
Just think - if you skip one orchid purchase, or don't buy
raffle ticket
s at this months orchid society meeting, or just cash in that jar of pennies you can help out our forum and perhaps win the prize! (Since some will be uncomfortable having me know what you donated, I will ask BD to just keep track of the donations and I will give him the numbers for the drawing)

Thanks to all in advance - remember, even a single dollar will get you an entry into the contest!

Thank you, Diane! The forum is expensive to operate and Lou and I appreciate the help. I feel weird about asking for financial support, so this fundraising contest is an excellent idea.

To let everyone know where we are at so far, we have had three entries into the contest for a total of 55.00!

It costs 449.00 (US) dollars each month for our dedicated server. (It is more than our car payment each month.) So, every donation or subscription helps! If you have not done so, please see the subscription page for an easy way to help out over the long term. The 'OrchidTalk Forum Pal' subscription is 5.00 dollars per month (.16 cents per day) and is an excellent way to help our community if you are able.

Thanks to the contributors today!

Cheers,
BD

We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors....but they all exist very nicely in the same box. ...Hmmm? .

Two additional subscriptions have been entered as of yesterday. One 'Pal' level and one 'Plant' level! Thank you for your help!

Cheers,
BD

Just a bump to remind those who may not have seen this or to those who keep 'meaning to make a donation'.

Thanks

Remember - the gift certificate will be purchased for the vendor of your choice.

True, but support is always appreciated. And, the odds are very good as it stands for the drawing since we have 9 individuals entered as of yesterday. I have not checked todays email yet to see if anyone else has entered. Good luck to all that have entered and thank you for your help!

I wonder what type of orchid(s) the winner will get? heheh...

Cheers,
BD
