Default How about a bellina contest?

Everyone has a bellina nowadays, I know they are out there...Well, how about a contest of the prettiest bellina? I think that it would be fun...kinda like a pedigree dog contest. Come on now people, if you've got it, shoot it and flaunt it!

Wink My Bellina's are pretty...they just don't bloom

Okay, the original Bellina....this is the stubborn one I've had for over a year now. When I got it in the mail it's flower spike had broken...some time it looked like, before we got it. Since it still doesn't know how to make a flower, we have it in training... (sorry about the blurry pics, my camera is having issues too)

Then there is my more recent addition...it sits outside with it's pet rock. It likes to visit it's friends from the sicko nursery that finally closed, where they all came from originally. It is obviously irrisistible, (or tasty) as the local mice love to nibble on it's new little leaves. Which is why it's pet rock came to protect it from the roamin' varmints! Hopefully it won't have to go into training like my other Bellina....it has such pretty mottled leaves....it'd be a shame to have to put it with the "indoor" challenged Phals!

Someday when they grow up....I'll post the pics of their flowers. In the meantime...we'll just wait patiently (unless threats work better!).

Well, the old term Phal. Violecia v. Borneo is now called Phal. Bellina.... so you may have one after all. I was feeling stupid for a moment until it dawned on me about the name change. I thought I'd submitted something else, until I looked it up. Gotta love all these name changes...

We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors....but they all exist very nicely in the same box. ...Hmmm? .

Okay, I'm a little confused -- are we talking about prettiest bellina FLOWER or PLANT?

I'll go snap some shots of mine tomorrow.

This is not what other people call pretty because they consider the flower 'not a good form'. But to me its pretty because its my only bellina.

A gift from a forum friend who raised it from flask.

This is the second bloom from my bellina, which is trying to make a symmetrical bloom. I think next near it will be better. However I like its magenda a lot.
