Articles can be placed in multiple categories by selecting them at the time of posting. For the contest, it must fit into the cattleya category in addition to any other category that it might fit into since this is the cattleya orchid article contest.
Cheers,
BD

We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors....but they all exist very nicely in the same box. ...Hmmm? .

Ok, maybe I am just intellectually challenged - but I can't find how to get to the article section.
I have looked though the forum list, and am possibly not looking for the right thing.. but can't see Orchid Article section or anything like it.
Can someone help me out?

For someone who's never used it before, it's kind of not that obvious. But I got there in the end

I surrender - the Amazing Thumb wins!
And while I don't mind blowing coffee through my nose, I think Thumb should be responsible for cleaning it off my keyboard...

I was starting to wonder there. It turns out I had to change browsers from Safari (Mac). It would only let me work in HTML mode and this contest, as interesting as it is, was NOT incentive enough for me to learn HTML.
First I tried Microsucks Internet Exploder. Guess what, it exploded several times before I took the next step: Firefox. I fianally got moving once I could see what was happening.
So, now my article is up and running:

( see, I was nice and provided a link! remember that when voting )
Oh, and I found where all the smilies went. Diane even has her OWN category. First a green name and NOW her own smilie catagory? How do you spell favoritism?

Somebody is really grumpy today! but I will admit that I did get help with my article. BD helped with the photo sizing after I PM'd him 47 times for explanations. - Oh, and the green name - it's a California thing... You know, think green... electric cars, gas from trash..
PS - here is the link to my article.... good idea! http://www.rv-orchidworks.com/orchidtalk/bd/node/48

GRUMPY? ME? Pfft Yes, I got help with mine too. Once I got the browser thing squared away it was not too bad.
I thought the smilies had gone the way of the dino's. Then I stumbled on the category pull down menu in the smilie window. That is where I saw it: the Thumbs category of smilies.
And Hey, Mehara has a green name too! So there goes your CA, environmentally displaced, nose in the air story!!! hehe
(On a more serious note, what IS up with the green names anyway?)

Maybe we haven't written enough posts yet, there might be a tiering system in operation, with the really productive people going up the colours of the rainbow. Just think how many posts you will need to write if you want your name in violet!
Going to read your article now Steve...
