5 Catts repotted into S&H
Hi all!
On Thursday I received 5 new catts in the mail, so I thought I would take some photos while putting them into S&H.
The 5 catts I received are: - Blc Good News 'Hawaii'
- Blc Lawless Romeo 'Juliet'
- C. Penang 'Black Caesar'
- Lc Mini Purple 'Blue Hawaii'
- Pot. Edith North 'Danny Adams'
First picture: New catts swimming in my sink in some warm water, just to soften up the roots a bit before they are unpotted. Lc Mini Purple has already been removed from the pott and is ready to be cleaned up!
Second Picture: Unpotted, dead roots trimmed and all old potting mix removed from remaining roots, they are ready to be potted up in Hydroton.
Third picture: All potted up and ready to rock! As you can see, I uaw a variety of recycled containers as pots - waterbottles, 2 liter bottles, milk containers. Its much cheaper than buying actual S&H containers!
These plants will now spend the next 4-5 days in a low light area while they recooperate, and then they will join the rest of my 'chids on the windowsill!
Thanks for looking!
~Becky

Hey, Becky, that is great! Nice work. I like the variety of containers too!
Cheers,

We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors....but they all exist very nicely in the same box. ...Hmmm? .

Hi Becky! How deep is your water reservoir on your assorted S/H pots?

Nice roots! Hey, the plants aren't that shabby either I killed my 'Blue Hawaii. A very pretty catt. Maybe I will get another, but only when I get this catt growing down. I either kill em or they don't bloom.

Very cool, Becky. Congratulations on the growing collection. The plants look great. They shipped really well. How long do you think they were in transit? Did you get express overnight or ground?
Since you mentioned you have plans for more, I have a suggestion for housing.

Hi Becky,
I read your thread on repotting into S/H and decided to try this out with some poor looking orchids, which didn't make any healthy roots so far.
I am using plastic containers (of spaghetti sauce), put some wholes in it and cleaned up the orchids.
I hope to have some good results soon.
Anyway, I think they will have more water and hulid conditions than when I just watered them on the traditional way.
Your pictures were very useful! They are one of the reasons why I am trying this now.
So, thanks for sharing your pictures and work!
Stefanie
