    Default Humidifier/light meter/ hygrometer

today i put all of my orchid in trays full of rock and pebles to give them moisture and then i went to the store and bought a $70.00 Cool mist ultrasonic humidifier and i was wondering if that will be enough moisture for my orchids. i will also be potting them in s/h this weekend. should i buy a hygrometer to measure the humidity level in the room where the orchids are? i was also thinking of buying a light meter but i dont know which one lol. what do you guys think =)

I got a digital thermometer/hygrometer at a local big box store for less than $15 . That is really all you need, something not too expensive that will give you a rough idea what humidity is running in the area around your orchids.

My sister lives an hour north of Denver. I was amazed at how low the humidity is during the summer. We hung a load of laundry on her clothesline and I picked up the basket to carry inside to wait until things had dried...She said nope! don't need to wait. What we had first hung up less than 10 minutes before was all ready dry. What a differance from the humid midwest where I live!
