Wow, snazzy greenhouse. And I for one love the algae growing on everything...very 'native'. Well done!

I always wondered why they called them "greenhouses" ! ;-) Looks neat inside....you have lots of space under the bench ! I loved your orchid on a stick, too. BTW, how do you cool your greenhouse ?

I've got misters on timers...one row down the center overhead, and a row on each side under the benches...plus fans running 24-7. It's really almost a loosing battle when it gets really hot...but the whole wet-wall thing is just more than I can fathom, though I know it may be in my future...

Nice set-up Tom! And very ingenious re: vanda on a stick! And why do u have to keep the greenhouse cool... looks like some deciduous trees in the background there (maple?) so me thinks u should be heating... course I'm no tree lovin hippy so wouldn't really know...

oh yeah... and black shadecloth vs green? any comments?

    Cheers

I know you Aussies get everything backwards...but its summer here...getting hotter than shrimp on a barby...?

As far as shadecloth goes...Aluminet is the way to go...reflects the heat. I only got %50 though, and so I have to use some of my old black shadecloth underneath. I would imagine that green would stay a bit cooler than black though...

I can't take credit for the orchids on a stick...got the idea from others who are doing it...

Looks far more natural than mine but difficult to care for basketed plants in the winter in my growroom.

I think Steve would need a big stick the way his phrags grow!

    Cheers!
