Default The more I read about lighting the more confused I became.

After wading through 4 pages of lighting information and becoming more and more confused, I decided to pose this question to my sage OT friends:

Considering my growing area what lights would you recommend I use?
This space is 8' x 27" x 5'....the large window is 5' and the small are 22" ea.

Many orchids will probably grow on your window sill without supplemental lighting. What direction does your window face?

Wes, but the small windows offer some South and North light. It is quite shaded by the forest as you can see. The forest is about 20 feet from my window.

I stopped by the hydoponic store today and they have 4' full spectrum single tube florescent with fixture for $38. ea. they are link-able. Tubes are guaranteed for 10 years.

I wish I could get hold of a light meter so I knew just how much light I was getting.
