Default New Plant Cart

Well, I had to break down and order myself a plant cart. Being around you guys is such a bad influence that I've run out of suitable winter growing space. So - I looked at putting one together myself, and after about 60 seconds of intensive investigation gave up that idea entirely!! (I flunked out of the School for the Mechanically Declined....LOL). And I wanted something that would look halfway decent in the house.

I'm expecting delivery in about a week of a cart that is 74 x 53 x 23, with 3 adjustable shelves and light fixtures, each fixture with 4 multi spectrum 40 watt flourescent bulbs. This should hold (slightly crowded) most of my Catts. The rest of the collection will remain in the bay window in the kitchen (east facing - about 60" wide, 30 inches depth behind the sink), and on another small table that is set in front of some east facing sliding glass doors.

I think we should start a pool on how long it will take me to put this "easy to assemble" wonder of modern growing together... Let's see - - Lefty Loosey, Righty Tighty.... and no more than ??? light fixtures can be plugged into your typical household outlet??? Hmm better check the insurance is paid up!

Diane,

It sounds wonderful! If you do have trouble putting it together, just give a yell. I am fairly compentent with technical stuff and would be glad to offer up any help I can. (Keep in mind I live in Arkansas and our carts usually have horses attached.... )

LOL! I bet it will go together for you fast! I cannot wait to see the photos!

Cheers!

We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors....but they all exist very nicely in the same box. ...Hmmm? .

Default Ohh, Uhhhh, Well....

The boxes all arrived - all 4 of them. Big ones, too. About 5' by 3' by 8". and they have lots of, errr, stuff in them. And electrical wires too . so lets see - I have my grandfathers hammer, 2 flat screwdrivers, a phillips screw driver, a wire cutter, and one of those adjustable kind of wrenches. And a tape measure! I guess I'm all set....................

Sounds like you have your work cut out for you this weekend I love doing that kind of stuff, but when I first open the box of a project like that and look at all of the assembly required I usually feel overwhelmed. I can't wait to see the pics after it is all set-up and loaded with plants
