Those are indeed impressive, Tindo! They make mine look diminutive! Mine has an 18" x 18" footprint, and is 24" tall. But I have my hands more than full with it!

That being said, the bulk of my collection are larger plants. The orchidarium is really just a chance for me to try life on the moisture-loving mini side! It's fun - I'm doing a lot of moving in and should have stuff pretty settled by Sunday.

How do you time your lights, fan and fogger? Do you have a heater for the froggie?

Froggies like it cool, so I keep it cool. I hand spray both tanks everymorning and in the afternoon before lights out. The fans run almost all night, and in the afternoons and early mornings. They stop during the height of the day.
The lights are also on a timer and set to run 12 hours on and off turning on at around 8 AM and off at 8 PM.

These are incredible! Wish I had the room and cash to build one. I really wish I could turn my garage into a giant orchidarium. Wishful thinking...

Ahh, Green Thumb. Giant orchidariums is my next project. A nice 4 foot tall by 2 foot deep by 4 or 5 feet long orchidarium.
Anyway, I guess mine came out to around 300 dollars without the orchids.
Maybe not even that much money.
Lets see, the tank was around $30
The glass for the front opening door was around $30 also
The silicone I used was around $12
The foam was no more than $20
The Drfit wood I spent around $20 also
The screen was about $20 or was it $10? I was able to get 2 screens out of one kit. Could make more, but I would need to buy more corner pieces whic are about $2
The hinges and pull bar, and latch were no more than $15
Gravel, substrate, and coco fiber for background(same as substrate) was no more than $20.
I used some Hydroton, which came out to about $20 also.
    So thats:
    Around $200 bucks.
Oh I forgot the $25 for the fan, and the lights I haven't bought yet, but they could be the most expensive part. The lights I am using I got for free. but they aren't the best.
So I guess it does all come out to around $300,
but I took my sweet time collecting all materials, and as a result, I didn't hear my wallet scream. The most expensive part by far where the orchids themselves, even though I got some for free!

P.S. My nick name at work is Little Green Thumb (My Indian Name, hehe) cause Im 6'3" and am good with plants. We all have indian names for each other.

My wife and I were just talking about doing something like that after seeing your post. I might want to break it up into two or three different ones though for different temps and/or lighting situations. That would also break up some of the expenses as I do one at a time.
