For higher light demanding plants I use 4 full specturm lights. Good Luck, Ed
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this Ed! I actually went with the 48" lights, even thought they dangle off the shelves. I'm almost done with my light cart...just waiting for one more item to arrive in the mail today and then I'll be able to set it all up and take pictures.

    Jason,

Why do you say the plants should be moved when they come into spike? Is it because the lights may alter the coloring of the flowers?

im not jason , but i think i have the answer...

you have to have fluoros pretty close to the plants for them to be effective, and spikes get pretty long. so thats why you have to move the plant (i think).
