Thank you. I got the camera for $100 or less...I would love to see what I could do with a good camera! I have plenty of life left to live, someday I'll get one.

Nice photos Courtney. I agree with Paul, the first pic is so sharp. Proof that you don't need big bucks to take great images.

I have a Nikon D300, and a couple of lens I use for orchids ; the 60mm Micro-nikkor - which does 1:1 scale pics if used with film, but with digital I'm confused, does it do 1.6:1 or 1: 1.6 as a max ? Whatever, at that kind of scale, even if used on a tripod on the A setting, and stopped down to f44 ,using a Nikon SB spmething or other flash, and shooting in Camera RAW, I'm not overly impressed with the results - can you get reciprocity faiure in digital ? The colours ( I have the camera set to Adobe RGB colour space - the only other choice is more limited gamut sRGB) are not as I see them, and however much I fiddle in Photoshop, the improvement is not always enough.
BTW I bought this camera when my other hobby was exhibition photography - landscapes and other subjects - but it took up too much time and my orchids were getting neglected so I gave up.
I also use an 18-200 Nikkor on this camera for some shotrs. I have other cameras for holidays, family etc, and when I go to a show ; the Nikon is too heavy to carry especially with a tripod etc.
