Lighting Effects On Mtssa Fitch Izumi
Decided today that I wanted to see exactly how the different lighting would effect the foto outcome of this plant
This is the Mtssa C.M. Fitch Izumi recently in bloom indoors with no flash only natural light from an east window.
Same plant with flash indoors.
Same plant with outdoor light no flash.
You can see how the color intensity changes with each shot. The true color is somewhere between foto #2 and #3. This is my first earned bloom on this plant. Bought it last year in bloom and can't remember if it's fragrant or not. We'll see. Thanks for looking

That's one beautiful plant! I love the "leopard print" on the petals.

Ischel, with your 3rd pic, was that taken outdoors in the sun or in the shade? On a sunny day or overcast? That too often makes a huge difference.

Beautiful flowers, and great job taking the photos.
I find that it is my problem as well when it comes to photographing flowers.
A very slight change in cloud formations tend to have a drastic impact on the outdoor flowers that I am trying to photograph.
Depending on the available light, the pictures end up too dull or too saturated with light.

I have the same plant. I think indoors in natural light is the best representation of these flowers...that's how I try to photograph all of mine.
Nice shots...

It was taken out doors around 7am and the sun had not broken through the trees yet.
Thanks all for looking.

My eye favors the first photo: indoors without flash.
Cheers,

We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors....but they all exist very nicely in the same box. ...Hmmm? .
